Remember this?

"If I Were A Carpenter" was written and first recorded by Tim Hardin.  The song was a monster hit for Bobby Darin in 1966, a smash on the soul charts for the Four Tops in 1968, and a #2 hit for Johnny Cash and June Carter on the country chart in 1970.  Honestly there aren't very many songs that are big hits three time in three different music genres!  The version I like best is Bobby Darin's... you'll remember the song when you hear it.  A classic, but mostly forgotten today.
