Embarassing...

If you disagree with me on this, well, I'm sorry. But I think what Governor Doyle did yesterday is embarassing for Wisconsin. He sure didn't do anything to help his embarassing approval numbers, below 40 percent. He didn't help the embarassing 6.6 billion budget deficit in Wisconsin. And he didn't help the 9+ percent of the state that's unemployed. So what did he add to his "legacy" yesterday?

He vetoed the bill that would have allowed a bear hunter with a "B" license to kill a wounded bear that had been shot by a hunter with an "A" license in the same hunting party. He said he was worried that wardens couldn't tell who shot the bear. Yeah right, just let the wounded animal suffer as long as possible. You've never hunted have you governor?

He also vetoed the bill allowing raw milk to be sold in Wisconsin. Never been on a farm either have you? Never stood next to a bulk tank and had a glass of ice cold milk straight from the cow. Maybe the best drink ever. I guess we just can't be trusted to decide these things for ourselves.

He also used his partial veto pen to ban using your auto as loan collateral. Now I agree that predatory loans are a bad thing, but this is just another example of the government thinking they know better than we what we do with our money and property.

Couldn't you have done something to lower taxes for once? I guess you knew what you were doing when you decided not to run in November...

Be Careful!!

Well, it's almost summer. And warm weather puts more drivers on the road. Time to rethink the way we drive, and be a lot more careful! We've already had several tragic deaths in the area this spring, let's prevent more! Time to make sure we really pay attention, stop texting, and be sure to focus on the road!

Here's a guy that survived, but I bet he learned a lesson!

The Final Survivor - 5/16/10

Well, the final Heroes VS Villains anyway. I'm sitting here, faithfully watching as I've done for 20 seasons of Survivor. And the last vote at Tribal Council is about to be made. But even though Colby was voted out earlier (the last Hero to go) I'm feeling pretty good. For the first time in my memory, the jury levelled their collective verbal guns at the biggest villain remaining. There's always one you know, that lies, cheats, backstabs and betrays everyone to get to the end. In this case it's Russell. And for me, that's the worst part of Survivor.

But knowing Russell will NOT receive a single vote is sweet. To me, if we are to compare this game to life, we have to know who the true villains are... and not allow them to triumph. And I'm good with either Sandra or Parvati... but I'd vote for Sandra. She truly proved that she could be a loyal friend.

Now the vote...

And the winner... Sandra! Six votes to three. And no votes for li'l Russell. JUSTICE!

Survivor - 5/6/10

Just when I'm shaking my head wondering how anyone can possibly get any dumber... I watch another Survivor and sure enough the cast obliges me with someone doing something even dumber than the week before.
So we'll do this in 3 parts. Okay, last week I was mad. My favorite remaining heroine, Amanda, got voted off. And sadly, she should have known better. She spent way too much time trying to change the wrong people's minds, and unfortunately for her a hero changed to a villain and voted her off. Candice switched sides... and Amanda is gone.
Part 2, Candice was way beyond stupid to switch sides last week... obviously the remaining heroes voted for her out of revenge... and the villains don't trust her now either... bad formula. Nice move by Rupert to pull the oldest trick on the island and make li'l Russell think he had an idol. But remember... we're not dealing with geniuses here. So Candice got voted off.
Part 3, tricky Jeff made this week a double dinger with a second immunity challenge and a second tribal council. At this point I figured Colby or Rupert, the last two heroes, were going to obviously be voted off the next couple of councils. But I forgot my own rule... li'l Russell is the DUMBEST participant in Survivor history and leave it to him to decide he needed to show off his power and destroy his own aliance. He flipped on Danielle, and because of his own pea-brain fear that people were starting to doubt his control... instrumented her demise... bye bye Danielle. And the most surprised people were Rupert and Colby, safe for another week... amazing.
Now, you may have noticed the pictures I've posted. And you'll notice that now the crew has voted off our last three candidates for "eye candy of the season". Like I keep saying... they're just not very smart.
I think though, that li'l Russell may finally go next time.... I hope so.
