Down On Me

October 6, 1966... a band named Big Brother and the Holding Company performed in San Francisco at the love pageant rally, yes, 50 years ago today.  This was a time when the world was discovering Janis Joplin.  A year later the band scored their first hit with "Down On Me", and although the song only made it to #43 on the Hot 100, it established Janis as something very special.  Today the song is a forgotten oldie...
