Sopwith Camel

To an older generation, a Sopwith Camel was a British bi-plane from World War I.  To the hippies of San Francisco in the '60's, they were a psychedelic rock band that was the 2nd Frisco band to sign with a major record label (after Jefferson Airplane), and the very first Frisco band with a top 40 hit.  Their 1967 "Hello Hello" catapulted the band to short-lived fame, and strangely sounded nothing like the rest of the band's music and was more reminiscent of vaudeville than flower power. The song is nearly forgotten today as is the band.
