Survivor Update - I'm confused!

Last night's Survivor episode made me wonder if Jeff Probst is manipulating votes. If you missed it, there were two tribal councils. Survivor has had a rash of contestants that quit over the last few episodes, so they start with 20 people, instead of 16. Which means that to keep the show at the correct number of episodes, somewhere along the line you have to dump the extra people. Hence, an episode with two tribal councils.
Okay, last night at the Espada council Dan said he wanted to quit. He's worthless to his tribe in every way except one... his vote. The old days of keeping a strong tribe are long gone, so for whatever reason his tribe didn't vote him out. Instead they dumped Yve. Yve was a lousy choice to me... first of all, she's a 40-something mom from Missouri, second she was a strong competitor in challenges and worked around the camp (something Dan doesn't do), and third... here's the important thing... she grew up in LaCrosse! As a matter of fact, she was visiting family here last week and even watched the 10/14 episode at Fish's Bar on the North side. So now, we've lost Jimmy Johnson and our LaCrosse contestant.
And the LaFlor vote was even more puzzling. Sash and Brenda manipulated things so the evil Marty could be voted out... and then changed their vote to Kelly B. What the heck was up with that?? That move is easily among the top ten dumbest Survivor moves ever. They had him right where they wanted him when the first vote was tied and he didn't use his immunity idol. And then when they re-voted, they changed their vote to Kelly B. Which made me seriously wonder if these people have lost their minds... or is Jeff Probst playing games to keep villains around... ?
