Today's Forgotten Oldie...

Smith was an American rock band that started out in California in 1969.  Discovered in a small club by Del Shannon, they took the Burt Bacharach song "Baby It's You" to #5 on the Hot 100 in July of 1969.  The record topped a million in sales, stayed on the charts for four months and received a gold record.  To me, this is the best version of the song and though I like the Beatles and Shirelles versions, the Smith record is perfect.  It makes no sense that it's been forgotten...
