Cat Stevens' version of "Morning Has Broken" went to #6 on the Hot 100 in 1972. It was also #1 on the Billboard easy listening chart. The song is actually a short hymn that was originally published in 1931. Adapted by Stevens, the song features a memorable piano part played by Rick Wakeman of Yes. Wakeman was not credited on the album "Teaser and the Firecat" for his contribution to the song. Years later he admitted in an interview that he was shattered by the omission.
