Here we go again... Survivor 21

Why is it that there's always some bozo that says his way to play is the only "smart" way to play? And it's happening again. This Marty dude is just another creep with an ego problem. And his thing about Jimmy Johnson?? "I need to remove him so people lose their daddy?" What the heck is up with that? I'm sure Jeff Probst and the producers are real grateful as well... Jimmy Johnson brought a whole new bunch of viewers to the show... and now sayonara Jimmy J. Sheesh, has one of these so called geniuses ever won the game? Not since season One as I recall.
And would somebody give Naonka a pill? She is so annoying I mute the TV when she talks...

Nowhere Boy...

The movie "Nowhere Boy' will come to the USA in October 2010. The movie, which chronicles the rebellious youth of John Lennon prior to the Beatle years, was made last year in England. It stars Aaron Johnson as John... and all I can tell you is they definitely nailed a "look" that's very believable. The movie has seven stars on IMDB, and I have to admit I'm anxious to see it.

Today's Rock History Lesson...

FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS

Freddie and the Dreamers recorded their biggest hit exactly 47 years ago today... July 8, 1963. Their records were immensely popular until 1965, so their impact on the British Invasion was pretty short-lived. Although they were often lumped into the Mersey bands from Liverpool, they were actually from Manchester, England, as were Herman's Hermits and Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders.

They were unusual to say the least, led by a comical chap named Freddie Garrity. At 5'3", Garrity would bounce around the stage waving his arms and leaping about like a madman. Another hit record "Do the Freddie" had a lot of us emulating Garrity on the dance floor. They only had a few hits, and four albums in the USA... but everyone remembers "Freddie and the Dreamers"!

Ringo is 70 today!

Richard Starkey, better known around the world as Ringo Starr, is 70 years old today. Yessir, the Beatle drummer was born July 7, 1940 in Liverpool, England. In 1962 he replaced Pete Best as drummer for the fast rising band called The Beatles. After the breakup in 1970, Ringo continued with a successful music career, as well as several movie and TV excursions.

I don't know about you, but Ringo turning 70 makes me feel really old...
