Egyptians raided my house!

No fooling! This past Saturday night while we were sleeping, Egyptians raided our house and built a pyramid in our driveway... right where my wife's car was parked! When I went out Sunday (12/12) to snowblow I discovered the pyramid! I wonder if there's a treasure room in there...

Bye bye Benry...

Survivor 12/8/10 - Every now and then, Survivor takes a very funny turn. This past episode was hilarious.
First Chase makes a huge strategic error... after winning the reward challenge, he takes Holly and Jane with him. This leaves the one player without an alliance, Sash, back at home with the three members of the other alliance; Dan, Fabio and Benry. And yeah, the four of them made an alliance.
But when everyone is back together, Benry immediately breaks his alliance by telling everyone else that he'll vote any way they tell him if he can just stay in the game. Wormy little feller ain't he?
Soooo, then Chase told Fabio to vote for Holly (which he did), Chase tells Benry and Dan to vote for Fabio (which they did) and then the other four voted Benry off. Funny!! Can you say blindside?
And almost as funny is Sash thinking he's the game's great strategist. His best quote of the night was when he said Chase’s decision was “a rissy moo” that was “increly stuid” so he was going to “possily manure myself with the other alliance.” I think Sash found some good marijuana in Nicauragua or something... he's definitely "out there".

Imagine...

Imagine how much great music the world has missed out on since John Lennon was murdered on December 8, 1980. For me, the world changed on that day. Maybe I grew up finally, but the world has been a darker, more somber place since that tragic day. We miss you John...

Survivor Update - 12/1/10

Well, the last couple of episodes have made the show a lot more exciting. My prediction was smashed a couple weeks ago when Brenda was voted off, and it appeared that the group was never going to vote NaOnka off despite her various "crimes" against the tribe (stealing food, etc.). And then last night, NaOnka quit. She just had enough and said goodbye. And amazingly, Purple Kelly quit at the same tribal council - also citing that she'd had enough and was physically and mentally unable to continue. I have to admit that Jeff Probst was beside himself... that two contestants would willingly leave the game with 28 days gone and only 11 remaining seemed to leave Jeff unable to speak. But professional that he is, Jeff was only quiet a few seconds before he unloaded on both gals. It was obvious that Jeff was upset, but his anger was minimal compared to the three other jury members (Alina, Marty and Brenda) when they discovered Kelly and NaOnka will be joining them on the jury. Yes, the quitters get to vote on who gets the million.
The best part of the episode was Holly sacrificing a reward with a meal to give the tribe a new tarp and additional rice. These items were made necessary when the group stupidly destroyed their food and shelter with a fire two episodes ago. But as Survivor goes, usually this type of sacrifice preceeds a quick exit... so Holly could be the next to go.
Anyhow, I'm going to make another prediction. Her absolutely fierce competitive nature is making me think that the winner could very well be Jane. Old gal yes, bad southern accent yes, non-typical choice for me yes, but hey, she's still there and all the "control-freaks" are gone except Sash... but he's not in control any more. As a matter of fact, he's scrambling to replace the two allies he just lost.
It's getting interesting...

Finally... bye bye Marty!

My sense of justice is back on track after the 11/10 episode. The rest of Libertad finally voted Marty out. It's been too long coming, but he jinxed himself when he said "I am really good at this game", and, when he devised the plan to flush NaOnka's immunity idol and get rid of Jane. Way too much attention on yourself dude.
Now, I'm rooting for NaOnka to go, and Daniel. She's so annoying that at times she ruins the show and Daniel is so physically unable to contribute, that he is literally getting by only because other people have self-destructed.
I'm still picking Brenda to win... and it's fun to finally say "bye bye Marty!"

Survivor Update - More confused

There have been many times over the years that the decisions the contestants made have confused me... last night (11/3) was one of the most confusing of all. And I have a lot of questions...
Like how the heck is Daniel still there? He contributes zero, he can't be trusted by anyone to keep his word, and he obviously isn't losing any weight so he's definitely eating more than his share.
Like why the heck did the younger guys vote Alina off last night?
And why oh why did they not dump Marty when they had the chance... again???
Like how is NeOnka still there? Now she's stealing food and supplies, and then admitting it to everyone without repercussions. Confusing.
Anyway, Alina is gone, they've merged, and next week I hope to be less confused.
Finally, it's time for my prediction. I'm picking Brenda (wearing the orange shirt in the photo). My reason? I have no real reason other than she's easy to look at. I'm too confused to use any other criteria...
