Ho Ho Ho...
And the winner of Survivor Nicuaragua is... FABIO! And the darndest thing is, he's the total nice guy, no lies, honest, a little crazy but a really good kid. And the youngest Survivor winner ever at 21 years old! So the title of this blog is partially for Christmas, and totally because I'm happy about it! The jury got it right!
If you missed it, Fabio won the last three immunity challenges to get to the final three, and then got five votes to Chase's four votes to win the million bucks. The night started with five contestants... Fabio, Chase, Sash, Holly and Dan. Dan was voted off first, Holly second, and the rest is history. And If you didn't realize it, slimy Sash got zero votes... that's right - zero!
Next up, Survivor - Redemption Island. Where voted out contestants battle each other for a chance to get back in the game. Jeff Probst promises we'll love it. I probably will.

Survivor 12/15/10
Wow, that was unexpected. Last night we clearly had two groups of three. The "big" alliance of Sash, Holly and Chase. And then the "non-alliance" of Jane, Dan and Fabio. Shockingly, Dan and Fabio still voted Jane off with the big alliance. Which automatically puts them both on the next two chopping blocks. Well, wait a minute... this is survivor and usually things don't go as planned.
Anyway, feisty old Jane is gone. Her alliance turned on her, she flipped them the bird, doused the fire (see photo) and made an un-graceful exit. Too bad, she had become a minor favorite through her grit and stubborn determination.
And yes, Sash is still alive somehow. He's not in control like he says he is, but he's still there. And after a good meal at the reward table, he's talking sensibly again... well, at least he's intelligible.
The wrap-up is Sunday. For some reason I find myself thinking Chase will win. But I'm rooting for Fabio!

Bye bye Benry...
Survivor 12/8/10 - Every now and then, Survivor takes a very funny turn. This past episode was hilarious.
First Chase makes a huge strategic error... after winning the reward challenge, he takes Holly and Jane with him. This leaves the one player without an alliance, Sash, back at home with the three members of the other alliance; Dan, Fabio and Benry. And yeah, the four of them made an alliance.
But when everyone is back together, Benry immediately breaks his alliance by telling everyone else that he'll vote any way they tell him if he can just stay in the game. Wormy little feller ain't he?
Soooo, then Chase told Fabio to vote for Holly (which he did), Chase tells Benry and Dan to vote for Fabio (which they did) and then the other four voted Benry off. Funny!! Can you say blindside?
And almost as funny is Sash thinking he's the game's great strategist. His best quote of the night was when he said Chase’s decision was “a rissy moo” that was “increly stuid” so he was going to “possily manure myself with the other alliance.” I think Sash found some good marijuana in Nicauragua or something... he's definitely "out there".

Survivor Update - 12/1/10
Well, the last couple of episodes have made the show a lot more exciting. My prediction was smashed a couple weeks ago when Brenda was voted off, and it appeared that the group was never going to vote NaOnka off despite her various "crimes" against the tribe (stealing food, etc.). And then last night, NaOnka quit. She just had enough and said goodbye. And amazingly, Purple Kelly quit at the same tribal council - also citing that she'd had enough and was physically and mentally unable to continue. I have to admit that Jeff Probst was beside himself... that two contestants would willingly leave the game with 28 days gone and only 11 remaining seemed to leave Jeff unable to speak. But professional that he is, Jeff was only quiet a few seconds before he unloaded on both gals. It was obvious that Jeff was upset, but his anger was minimal compared to the three other jury members (Alina, Marty and Brenda) when they discovered Kelly and NaOnka will be joining them on the jury. Yes, the quitters get to vote on who gets the million.
The best part of the episode was Holly sacrificing a reward with a meal to give the tribe a new tarp and additional rice. These items were made necessary when the group stupidly destroyed their food and shelter with a fire two episodes ago. But as Survivor goes, usually this type of sacrifice preceeds a quick exit... so Holly could be the next to go.
Anyhow, I'm going to make another prediction. Her absolutely fierce competitive nature is making me think that the winner could very well be Jane. Old gal yes, bad southern accent yes, non-typical choice for me yes, but hey, she's still there and all the "control-freaks" are gone except Sash... but he's not in control any more. As a matter of fact, he's scrambling to replace the two allies he just lost.
It's getting interesting...
