Get well soon!

I know we don't play any Poison songs on the Eagle, but I've always liked their music and their lead singer; Bret Michaels. If you haven't heard, Bret had a brain hemorrhage a few days ago and has the battle of his life on his hands. He also has hyponatremia and the hemorrhage is classified as subarachnoid... a condition where you actually suffer a type of stroke that's extremely painful. We're all praying that his condition will improve as the blood surrounding the brain is re-absorbed into his system. He's conscious and talking, both good signs, but his recovery could take several weeks to months.

Get well soon!!!

The picture here is one I took of Bret a couple years ago at Rockfest...

Survivor Update - 4/22/10

With the past two week's victims watching, J.T. got the boot tonight. Yep, the "hero" I had picked to win got the old heave-ho... the sad part is that J.T. himself made the dumbest move of the season which led to his own downfall. If you didn't watch... he slipped Russell the only immunity idol that the heroes owned. I know what you're thinking... "he gave the idol to a villain????" I guess it's safe to say that I never expected J.T. to start thinking. If only I'd known.

The funny part is that Parvati engineered the voting. Turns out she thinks very well. And now, even Russell the dirtbag isn't sure where he stands. How does Russell continue to make the final group of ten? The man doesn't have a single ounce of loyalty to anyone, is incapable of telling the truth, and continues to believe he's the smartest Survivor ever, despite his obvious neanderthal mentality. I just don't get it. I guess that's why I'll never play the game...

I'll tell you one thing though, if Jeff continues to bring competitors like Russell back - I'm not sure I could watch another season. I need the heroes to prevail... not the villains!
So long J.T.

New Global Warming Poll

Well, it seems the country is starting to cool over the Global Warming debate. Every year that Rasmussen does this poll, the number of people that think it's a problem has declined to just 43% and the same number feel we should do nothing... except wait to see if Global Warming is a hoax.

Also, 59% believe it's somewhat likely that scientists have falsified information to make the public believe in global warming.

You can check it all out at:

Do you think Global Warming is a hoax? I do...

New wardrobe for summer...

I don't know about you, but I live in T-shirts during the summer. I noticed last weekend that I was sick of my T-shirts though. I wonder where I could get some new ones made... these are fun don't ya think?

Restaurants to avoid...

I'm sure you've seen internet guides for restaurants with great food. But isn't it time someone gave us a guide to the restaurants you should avoid? Okay, I have no idea if this restaurant has good food (it probably does) - but somebody really needs to tell this guy that the name of his restaurant just might be scaring away customers!

Survivor - 4/1/10

This is actually a three-week update, but there was no survivor on 3/18 (NCAA tourney) and then the next week it was on Wednesday 3/24 and I missed it. But... I finally watched the missing episode online, and of course watched last night's thriller.
Okay, on 3/24 they voted off a member of each tribe... kind of a weird deal. The Heroes voted James off, thinking with his leg injury he would not be a strong tribe-member. The Villains voted Tyson off, after Russell convinced Tyson to vote for Parvati (wasting his vote) and after Russell pulled a fast one and saved Parvati with his immunity idol.
My take... James is no big loss to the heroes, he was creating more problems than he was solving and could use some serious lessons in diplomacy. Similarly Tyson won't be missed by the villains, his ego was always larger than his brain and he was always just an annoying presence.
Now on to last night. The absence of James triggered some motivation among the heroes and they managed victories in both the reward challenge and the immunity challenge. This pitted the two stronger forces in the villain tribe into a head-to-head face-off... Boston Rob VS Russell. Can I say here, that anyone that believes anything Russell says is seriously in need of help. The pompous hobbit manages to bully, lie and scheme at every turn though. The same thing that happened to him in season 19 will happen this time... he will so alienate everyone he betrays that even if he makes it to the end again, anybody he's against will get more votes.
Anyway, long story short, Coach proved again that he can be manipulated at any time by almost anyone and his wasted vote for Courtney tipped the scale in Russell's direction and Boston Rob was gone. Rob will be missed... so much that the villains long reign in the victory circle is done. They're toast from here on...

Drinking enough water?

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world's population)

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%,plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?
